Fantasy World Building Workshop
June 13 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm£40.00
Looking to build your first fantasy world, for fiction or role play? Want to improve and deepen your worldbuilding?
This trio of workshops will lead you through the worldbuilding process, from initial idea, to a fully built world. This is the perfect course for fantasy and science-fiction writers, role players, and gamers.
Workshops will include teaching, discussion, and writing exercises, delivered in a relaxed, supportive, and inspiring group environment.
Led by established independent author and self-confessed worldbuilding nerd, Angeline Trevena.
Session One: A Sense of Place
Learn all about the basics and first steps of worldbuilding and map-making. We’ll look at the evolution of your world, and how to build a world that feels completely real.
Session Two: Building a Society.
Learn about the various elements to include in your world. From the government hierarchy and gender roles, to education and religion, these are the things that will round out your world and feed into your story.
Session Three: Incorporating Character and Story.
In the final session you will learn how to fit your characters into the world you’ve built for them. You’ll see how the world shapes them, and how they shape the world. You’ll also learn how to use your worldbuilding to cause conflict, increase tension, and raise the stakes of your story.
