Beginners Papercutting
Overview Beginners Papercutting master class, starting from the very beginning. Who is this class suitable for? For everyone What should I bring with me? Nothing, all materials included (frames available at an additional cost if you wish to purchase one for your masterpiece) What will I take home A bookmark and two mounted pieces of work ready for you to frame at home. You can also take home the knife and small cutting mat to carry on practicing). Beginners Papercutting Masterclass by Connie Wan-Docksey of The Tiny Maker. This class is suitable for anyone interested in learning the ancient and mindful art of Papercutting. After a brief introduction, we will have a look at the tools required and then start from the very beginning and learn to Hand-cut lines and curves and then create three small pieces to take home. You don't need to know how to draw or design as all templates will be supplied as will the use of mats, knife and blades so just bring yourself! £35 per person

To coincide with World Collage Day (11th May 2019). We're hosting an Introduction to Collage Event - A fun, playful workshop Join graphic designer and collage artist Mark Watkins for the day, where he will give you an insight into the history of collage and how accessible an art form it is. You will take with you a piece / pieces of collage artwork No experience necessary All materials will be provided, but if you wish to bring your own source material, that is fine but not necessary. Creative Writing and Collage Workshop
Inspired by artwork in the gallery, the morning will consist of creative writing exercises through which you will discover a story. Dreaming up characters and locations, as you delve into an imagined world. In the afternoon, you will create a collage; mixing imagery and words to create a unique piece of art which, quite literally, tells its own story. Come willing to share, collaborate, and dream of what could be. The workshop will be led by local urban fantasy author Angeline Trevena, with assitance from artist Michele McDonald in the afternoon for the collage workshop. Work created will be included in an exhibition at Burton Library Time - 10am to 4pm Cost - £50. Macmillan Coffee Morning – Day
Fancy a chance to meet artists, writers, eat cake, and have a cuppa, all in aid of raising funds and awareness for Macmillan Cancer Support? Then we have the ideal event for you! In memory of Kev's mum Dot, we will hold our 2nd Coffee Morning (Day). We have a full day of activities planned, such as cup cake decorating, artist demonstrating their skills, poet and writer readings and discussions. There will also be free kids activity sheets. What more could you want?... other than the chance to look around the gallery at the amazing artwork which we have on sale (some great ideas for Christmas... yes we dared to say it!)
